Me and my 12 year old both got curly hair cuts by Phil and it was the best experience we've had this far in Melbourne. Having thick curly hair means it can be hard to find a hairdresser who understands our hair and knows how to work with it to give us the best outcome. Phil did a fabulous job with us both and made us feel welcome and valued from the start, never judging us for the condition of our hair after going 12 months between cuts and treatment. He revived our curls and made us feel beautiful again! Thank you Phil, and also to Yolanda and the rest of the SO Haircutters team for accommodating us and being so welcoming towards us both. We'll definitely be back again!

If you have curls or waves and want to feel truly seen, this salon is a gem. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth, laughter and genuine care. It feels less like an appointment and more like catching up with friends. Philip is exceptional. His expertise with curly hair is next level. He listens carefully, understands how curls behave and delivers a cut that actually works with your natural texture. My curls have never looked healthier or more defined. Philip’s knowledge, skill and attention to detail deserve the highest praise. The entire team is just as wonderful. Every staff member is friendly, welcoming and clearly passionate about what they do. There’s such a positive, relaxed energy in the salon and it’s obvious they genuinely care about their clients and each other. If you’re looking for a fun, caring salon that truly specialises in curly hair, this is the place!

I had such a great experience at So Haircutters. The team is so welcoming and very friendly. Phillipp knowledge about curls is incredible. He understood my needs and respected what I wanted. I came out with healthy and happy hair. The definition of my curls was really incredible. I never seen my eyes this shiny after a haircut. Thanks again 🙌🏾

I had my hair cut by Phillipp last year and loved the experience so much that I came back for colour. He genuinely listens, respects your length, and pays attention to every detail. I have multiple curl types and very specific preferences, and my balayage turned out soft, not too high-contrast against my olive undertones, but still adding beautiful depth and dimension to my curls which is exactly what I asked for. I haven’t been this happy with a colouring job in a long time. Lovely staff, great care, and such a relief to finally find a curly salon I’ll keep coming back to. Highly recommend!

There’s only one word to describe Phillipp and the team at SO Haircutters and that is: AMAZING! I haven’t had my hair cut since lockdowns and struggled to find a curly hair cutter where I left feeling fabulous. I found SO Haircutters on instagram and I was hooked - I knew I needed to book in and see them. The team are wonderful - so friendly and welcoming to the salon and just a great vibe all round. Phillipp took me through the consultation and discussion about my curly journey and what I wanted to achieve - he is beyond knowledgeable about hair and I learnt things I didn’t know previously. After the cut, Nat took over with the wash and styling and she was just adorable - she took me through each step, described the products she was using and why, showed me how much to use and gave me tips to style my hair at home so I can achieve the same results. Anaka took some photos (which is a big thing for me - I’ve struggled with having my photo taken) and made me feel incredible. I’ve never walked out of a salon with a smile that big before (and the smile lasted all day) I cannot recommend these guys enough - outstanding on each aspect and I can’t wait for my next visit in January. Thank you again so much!
